Burning Yard Waste

Before You Burn...Please Learn!

DO YOU KNOW that you can get a 95-gallon yard waste cart from Nu-Way Disposal for no charge?

The Village's contract with Nu-Way Disposal includes disposal of yard waste along with separate, no charge 95-gallon carts for this purpose.  Please read the Trash Collection page for details.

If You Must Burn, Do It Safely and Courteously.  Make Safety a Priority!

  • Notify your immediate neighbors when you intend to burn so that they may take steps to minimize any negative effects they may experience.
  • Try to burn on sunny days rather than cloudy ones
  • Avoid burning on holidays

The following rules will be enforced by Will County and the Village of Homer Glen:

  • Burning of trash, rubbish, garbage, general household waste and construction or demolition debris is prohibited.

  • Only yard waste generated by your property may be burned on your property.
