Russell Knaack was elected to the Village Board in April 2007. He resides in the southern area of Homer Glen with his wife Crystal and their young children Darla and Adam.
Having been a member of the Homer Glen Parks and Recreation Committee since 2005, Russell has been very active in the development of the Parks, Open Space, and Recreation Master Plan for the Village. He is currently a co-chair of the Committee.
Russell has also worked as an advocate for wetland preservation, forest preserve acquisition, and historic preservation in and around the Homer Glen area. He is currently a Trustee for The Homer Glen Foundation - a non-profit organization which supports acquisition and improvements of parks, open space, conservation areas, and trails.
Russell holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical engineering. He currently works as a senior engineer at Electro-Motive, a manufacturer of locomotives in LaGrange, IL.
