May 2006
In celebration of the Village's five year anniversary, the Communications and Civic Involvement Committee (CCIC) recently held a ?Name the Village Newsletter? contest and asked the citizens of the community to submit suggestions. The name "Messenger" is more than just a name of a newsletter in that it also represents a special place in the Village, Messenger Woods. It also is part of the name chosen for one of the incorporation efforts. ?A Glimpse of The Glen? denotes a brief look at current village activities. The name of the Village Newsletter is:

The Gregg Weiss family won for submitting "The Village Messenger". Gregg currently serves on the Public Safety Committee. The winner for the entry ?A Glimpse of the Glen? is Miss Jackie Almazan, who is a freshman at Providence High School.
Each winner received a $100 American Express gift certificate donated by an anonymous party.
